A. Early fall is my favorite time to target striped bass. A 4ā bubba shad with a 3/4-ounce jig head is hard to beat. You can use this application for fresh water and salt water applications. When targeting striped bass, I like colors such as T52 pearl chart. tail, T86 sexy minnow, and T71 Baja Chovy. These three colors can catch you fish in any situation that you might encounter. When targeting largemouth bass with the Bubba Shad, I like to bump up one size to a 5ā on a 3/8-1/2 oz jig head. The bigger size and lighter weight head allows me to really slow roll that swimbait and keep it in the strike zone longer for those finicky fish. I tend to fish more panfish imitating colors when targeting bass. Colors like 124 Hot Belly Bass, 135 Bleeding Bait Fish, and Christmas brown bait are big producers when targeting bass.
